GEN C ASKS · PRIVACY
Privacy by default.
GEN C ASKS is an initiative of Generational Change for Nation Building.
Survey responses
For GEN C ASKS surveys, we store the answers you submit, the survey/question references needed to interpret them, your optional self-reported Philippine region, and an anonymous survey-specific browser hash used for duplicate-response control. The raw random browser identifier remains in your browser and is not stored in the response database.
Long-form surveys may include optional or required open-text questions. Please do not put your name, contact details, private identifiers, or other sensitive personal information in those text boxes.
Suggested answer options
If you suggest a new answer choice, the text is stored in a private moderation queue. It is not public unless an administrator approves it. Approval adds the answer as a public option; it does not automatically count as your vote.
Historical question submissions
A previous public question-submission feature has been retired and no longer accepts new questions. Historical submissions may remain in a protected database while applicable privacy and retention obligations are reviewed. They are separate from survey answers.
Optional region
Region is self-reported and optional. You may skip it. GEN C ASKS does not use GPS or IP geolocation to determine your region.
What we do not collect for survey analysis
- No name, email, phone number, or user account.
- No GPS, precise location, city, municipality, or barangay.
- No advertising identifier, session replay, browsing history, or behavioral profile.
- No PostHog or other product-analytics platform in this application.
Duplicate-response control
Your browser stores a random identifier locally. For survey responses, the server transforms it with a secret and the specific survey identifier before storage. This means the stored code differs between surveys. It is designed to enforce one current response per browser/device per survey, not one verified human response. Another browser or device may still submit separately.
Public results
Where a survey has public results enabled, the public site shows aggregate counts or summaries, not individual response records. Open-text survey answers are not automatically published by the public results interface.
Technical service providers
Render hosts the web application and Neon hosts the database. Like ordinary internet infrastructure, these providers may process technical connection information to deliver and protect their services. GEN C ASKS does not add IP addresses or precise location to the survey-response database or use them for audience analytics.
Retention
Survey response records are intended to be kept while a survey is operating and for no longer than 12 months after it closes, unless a shorter practical or legal requirement applies. Historical question-submission records may require a separate retention review; they are no longer part of the public survey service.
Your privacy rights
Where applicable, you may ask about access, correction, deletion, objection, or other rights under Philippine privacy law. Because responses are deliberately not tied to a submitted identity, we may not be able to identify a particular anonymous record as yours without additional information from your browser.
